2023's theme is "A Walk to Remember"
Instead of focusing on statistics, we will be remembering those we have lost to the scourge of military suicide. The names, the faces, the stories.
We want all families, friends, people who served with them to participate, and tell others who they were. Those of us left behind have the sacred duty of carrying on their memory.
A warrior never dies as long as their names are spoken and their memories are kept alive.
Details:
Anyone can participate in an Operation Mercury ruck/walk, not just veterans
Only veterans or servicemembers can LEAD a walk, unless its another organization leading one. In that example, that organization can designate a civilian to lead their if no other veteran or servicemember is available.
Each ruck/walk leader must have a 5k route chosen before registering.
THIS IS NOT A FUNDRAISER, AND NO ONE WHO IS LEADING A RUCK/WALK CAN FUND RAISE OFF THIS EVENT. MONEY IS NOT THE PURPOSE HERE.
